Course description: The media art class focuses on cultivating students' creativity, artistry, technical skills and theoretical knowledge. Students produce media art to convey ideas, feelings and beliefs to specific audiences. Media art combines the content, practice, tools and skills of various arts, including dance, theater, music, and visual arts, as well as technical photography, film, photocopying arts, analog and electroacoustics, classical animation and video/TV.

Course description: Drama learning provides students with opportunities for role-playing, creating and entering the world of imagination. They learned in a unique way to re-recognize themselves, the art of drama, and the world around them. Students participate in the creation, performance and analysis of drama interaction and collaboration. Through performing in class, students learn to use drama to convey their aesthetic and personal values. Students will improve their accumulated experience as performers, audiences, playwrights, technicians, designers, and critics of drama.

Course Name: Grade 9-12 Dance Classes
Course Description: Dance class introduces students to the notion that movement is a medium of expression and the human body is a tool. Learning to dance requires a balance of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and includes movement, creativity and performance. TAA's teachers enhance our students' awareness of the richness of dance. Students will develop kinesthetic awareness and use dance elements (body, space, time, and energy) to create dance works. Through speech performances, students use dance to convey their aesthetic and personal values. By experiencing, analyzing and commenting on the performance of others, students will enhance their own understanding of other dance artists and cultural values.

Course Name: Grade 9-12 Music Classes
Course description: This course provides students with the opportunity to improve their musical literacy through creation, appreciation, analysis and performance of music (including traditional, commercial and artistic music).
Students will reflect on, respond to, and analyze the process of live and recorded performances through practicing, thinking about the function of music in society, and the impact of music on individuals and communities.
They will explore how to integrate their perception and understanding of music into their lives and careers.

Course Name: Grade 9-12 Visual Arts
Course description: The visual arts classes in grades 9 and 10 focus on the appreciation of studio art works, aiming to cultivate students’ visual literacy, transform "sight" into "visual" perception, and explore the expressive power of art and personal opinions of the work and the elements and principles of the design. Students will use a variety of traditional and modern media techniques to research and produce a variety of art works.
The visual arts courses in the 11th and 12th grades focus on the critical analysis of works of art. Students will gradually understand how art reflect and influence the history, values and beliefs of various societies and cultures. By experiencing a variety of art and the rich heritage of Canadian art, students can improve their understanding and appreciation of the scope and meaning of artistic expression.
